The Malta Maritime Forum (MMF) serves as a common platform for those Malta-based entities involved in the maritime, logistical and transport industry in Malta. It is an NGO established in 2015 with a vision to champion all matters related to the Maltese maritime industry. Its Mission is to acts as the flag-bearer for the entire maritime industry and facilitate communication between the authorities and various sectors that form this Industry. The MMF is affiliated to the European Network of Maritime Clusters (ENMC) and the European Shortsea Network.
As the leading Maritime Cluster of the Maltese Islands, the MMF embraces all the major players in the Industry across a very wide spectrum.
The membership base of the MMF includes the Industry’s prime movers. This represents the Forum’s main resource as it generates a wealth of contacts and information from which all members may benefit.
The Objects of the MMF include the following:
1. To provide a central and specialised national organisation for the representation, promotion and protection of all interests pertaining to the Maritime Industry and the Blue Economy;
2. To act as the counter-weight for the regulator and to actively and constructively consult towards the development of National Maritime Policy;
3. To connect with members in the Industry and provide a“home” where they can be heard and where their issues will be taken up appropriately on their behalf;
4. To co-operate with and/or to act as an authoritative medium of communication with the Maltese and European Authorities to relay the ideas, opinions and concerns of the Industry as a whole;
5. To organise fora and research aimed at identifying and rectifying barriers whilst proposing legislative or other measures which support the development of the Maritime Industry.
